WHAT DOES THE A.R.K. OF THE COVENANT LOOK LIKE?

If you’re a regular reader here you know we’re making a movie about finding the Ark of the Covenant. No, it won’t be anything like Indiana Jones. It’s more of a sci-fi noir film, if that makes any sense.  See here to get a better idea of the feel of this movie.

So of course the question comes up: do we show the ARK?  What does it even look like?

We’d like to share our inspiration for re-creating the ARK on set…without revealing what it will actually look like in the movie.  This is a a pre-First Temple private altar – called “heter bamot:”

And here’s our executive producer, Harry Moskoff, of Moskoff Media, standing in front of it (just to give you an idea of size):

This is now on exhibit at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.  Altars like this were used in pre-Temple
times when private altars were still permitted to Jews.

We know what the actual ARK looked like, based on the description in the Torah:

But as filmmakers we like to use our creative license, and have something in mind that will work beautifully with the light.  To be revealed… :P

Hi I was in Panama recently and the ark of the covenant was discovered. The lost city of El Dorado is discovered in Chiriqui Panama. It is quiet intersting to see who is now taking responsibility for the exciting news. check out their link at http://thearkofthecovenantdiscovered.com/ Chiriqui archaeological sites.
